Before joining PSS in June 2018, Jacqueline Che was the Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Northern Marianas College where she led the college’s strategic assessment plan and monitored the college's effectiveness in achieving its mission and purpose, with special emphasis in collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data to inform and drive decision-making for continuous quality improvement.
Ms. Che began her career in the CNMI as the administrator of the CNMI Scholarship Office where she managed the day-to-day operations of the state scholarship program that provided college financial assistance to on- and off-island CNMI students. She also taught Advanced Placement U.S. History and College Success as an Adjunct Instructor at Mount Carmel School and NMC, and held various positions at the University of San Diego and San Diego Unified School District including graduate assistant, assessment coordinator, teaching assistant and community program manager. Ms. Che currently sits on the Mount Carmel School Board of Directors and the CNMI Women Association. She is a member of the CNMI Alliance for College and Career Readiness under REL-Pacific at McREL International, whose work with the CNMI Public School System and CNMI Department of Labor led to a study on how indicators of college readiness used in high schools predict students' readiness for college.
Ms. Che holds a master’s degree in higher education leadership from the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences, where she also received her bachelor's degree in history and anthropology. She is an AlumKnight of Mount Carmel School and is a member of the inaugural class of the Pacific Century Fellows-Marianas Chapter and founding member of the Marianas Young Professionals (MYPros). She is a recent graduate of the WASC Assessment Leadership Academy, an intensive professional training program designed to prepare future leaders and scholars in higher education assessment and accreditation, and when not leading and cheering education initiatives or squeezing the most productivity out of every last minute, she enjoys being lazy and enjoying life.
